These are just a few of the titles that Amy Shinault has held for the past ten years. But it is now time for the next part of her journey, as she has accepted a new opportunity and will be leaving the ReStore. If you have visited the ReStore in the past decade, you have probably encountered a smiling woman with her signature red hair at the front counter.
Amy began working at the ReStore in the spring of 2009, a year after she closed her own Habitat home. She quickly became an asset to the ReStore assisting customers and volunteers, even gaining many regular customers who came to see her.
“Kindest soul you could ever want to meet and truly a heart made of pure gold,” One customer commented on Facebook.
“I always somehow feel good knowing you are just across the street. Habitat and all Habitat serves have been fortunate to have you all these years,” Another customer who lives near the ReStore wrote on Facebook.
Customers also often heard her talk about her children, grandchildren, and pets, all of which she loved to show off pictures of. Everyone in the Habi-Fam will miss Amy and wish her luck in future endeavors.
