 We appreciate your interest in our Homeownership Program!

At this time, we are NOT accepting new applications.

Our online application is closed at this time, but don’t let that stop you from moving forward on your journey to homeownership!          We encourage you to check back regularly for updates on when the application will reopen. In the meantime, take this opportunity to prepare by gathering necessary documents, improving financial readiness, and exploring community resources like MCOP and other local programs that offer financial guidance.

The minimum annual household income required for this program is $34,000.00

The minimum annual household income required for this program is $30,000.00

Application Documents:

 

The documents listed below must be submitted with your application.     

  • One month of your most recent pay stubs
  • Most recent bank statement for all checking and savings accounts
  • Most recent W-2 or 1099 AND your most recent federal tax return
  • Retirement account monthly statement (if applicable)
  • Child support documentation (if applicable)
  • Social Security or Disability Benefits award letter (if applicable)
  • Please provide a personal letter introducing yourself and your family. This letter should describe your current housing situation, your specific housing needs, and how Habitat can make a difference in your life.

Your application cannot be reviewed until all required documentation is received. Incomplete applications will be returned to you.

Application

Sweat Equity

Each adult will volunteer 200 hours with Habitat Monroe. 100 of these hours will be completed on the construction site.

Education

You will participate in a series of workshops hosted by Habitat for Humanity. Topics include home maintenance, personal finance, and budgeting. 

Savings

Save $1,000 by opening a savings account and contribute a minimum of $25/month.

At Habitat, we equip you with the coaching and tools needed to prepare for homeownership. If you do not qualify for our Homeownership Program due to credit challenges, we can connect you with other community programs that provide financial guidance and resources to help you move forward.
