Spartan Steel Spreads Joy

Long time Habitat Monroe supporter, Spartan Steel, spreads Christmas cheer through a thoughtful habi holiday donation to support a Habitat family this season.

Spartan Steel, a part of Worthington Industries, has participated in Team Habitat days for the past few years, providing a thousands in donations and a volunteer teams. They have helped to build on many houses and have seen first-hand the impact that a Habitat home can make on a family.

The team was inspired to make this Christmas donation because this aligns with their core philosophy. “Worthington Industries practices good citizenship at all levels. We conduct our business in a professional and ethical manner. We encourage all of our people to actively participate in community affairs.” This organization enjoys giving back and celebrating this community!

“Adopting a family for Christmas is an incredible way to reach out to a lot of people all at once. It also shows our family members firsthand the joy of giving and what it looks like to be involved in our community.” said Kerry Ulin of Worthington Industries.

Spartan Steel Spreads Joy

We would love this to be a regular program for Worthington Industries. Ulin says they are looking for local families to help support in our community. This year they spread the Christmas spirit to a hardworking family in Temperance, MI. This will be the fourth year that Mary and her three adopted grandchildren celebrate the holiday season in their Habitat home. Mary was overwhelmed by the generosity of this organization. This pleasant holiday surprise is a gift they will cherish this Christmas and through the new year.

Supporting the community is a pillar in their values. Worthington Industries has a long history of keeping employees safe, practicing good citizenship and protecting the environment. At Worthington Industries, they are Makers of Better. From 1955 to today, one thing has remained constant – their people make better possible. Makers of Better is a reflection of their philosophy and culture in action. It comes through in how their employees and leadership interact with each other, how they talk about themselves and how our community views them. This sets them apart and makes them uniquely Worthington.

Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County is blessed to have an incredible community partner in Worthington. Each member of makes up this valuable organization and Monroe County is definitely better because of them. You have touched the lives of each habitat homeowner you build alongside, each habitat child you help provide a sustainable home to and certainly to this habitat family for yoru gennerous holiday contribution!
