For Immediate Release:

Habitat for Humanity of Monroe to Build Veteran Ramp in Newport

Monroe, MI – March 1, 2022 – Habitat for Humanity will be partnering with the Home Depot Foundation on March 8th, 9th and 10th to construct a ramp at a local veteran’s home.

Rosalie Stewart lives in Stony Point with her husband, Virgil. She is a military mom, with her son Joe being an honorably discharged Air Force Veteran. Rosalie was recently confined to a wheelchair, and is essentially homebound due to lack of accessibility in and out of her home.

The ramp build will begin next Tuesday, after Home Depot generously donates and delivers the construction supplies. This three-day event will utilize 15+ volunteers from Home Depot of Woodhaven.
