Fifth Third Bank Donates $22,500 to Habitat HOPE Program

The Habitat HOPE Program received $22,500 in funding from Fifth Third Bank on July 29, 2019, making them the program’s largest sponsor.

The Habitat HOPE program is a part of Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County and serves as a precursor to the Habitat homeownership program. HOPE also offers free financial services to the public including foreclosure prevention counseling, homebuyer education, and individual financial counseling.
Fifth Third’s donation will go partly towards providing additional resources for HOPE’s Homebuyer Education Courses. Fifth Third has been focusing on financial education for potential homebuyers on their summer tour with their Financial Empowerment Mobile.
The donation was prompted, in part, because of the Financial Resource Education Event hosted by Habitat HOPE on Aug. 29, from 4-7 pm, at the La-Z-Boy Center on the Monroe County Community College campus.

Fifth Third Bank will have their Financial Empowerment Mobile at this event, pulling free credit reports and reviewing with clients. Additionally, clients will receive a personalized evaluation of their finances, free of charge.
“We are committed to improving lives in our communities through financial education,” said David Girodat, Fifth Third Bank regional president in Eastern Michigan.
