Volunteer Services Coordinator to join our team!

About the Role
As a Volunteer Services Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing our volunteer programs. The Volunteer Services Coordinator helps recruit, train, schedule and recognize volunteers. They build relationships in the community to grow the overall volunteer base and advance individual and group partnerships. They market within the community to recruit new volunteers and develop new events and opportunities for volunteers to engage with the mission of Habitat for Humanity. They assist with all aspects of volunteer management, including initial orientation, database maintenance and tracking, and promoting volunteer opportunities as they arise.
Work Schedule and Compensation
- Status: Part-Time (approximately 24 hours/week)
- Work Days: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays
- Location: Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County
- Wage: $17.00/hour
Responsibilities
The Volunteer Services Coordinator will be responsible for a range of essential tasks:
- Maintain the volunteer program to meet the needs of the affiliate.
- Respond to inquiries regarding volunteer opportunities from individuals and groups in a timely manner (via phone, text, email, social media, other).
- Manage the volunteer schedule for construction, ReStore store and affiliate needs including affiliate committees, special events and projects.
- Maintain the system of online scheduling of volunteers, including tracking hours and updating contact information (Salesforce).
- Recruit new volunteers, both individuals and teams, according to the needs of the affiliate and Restore.
- Work with Director of Construction and construction staff to track volunteer attendance.
- Assist in the coordination of volunteers for special events.
- Promote “Team Habitat” work days and work with the Development Director to contact organizations/corporations to financially support this program.
- Develop and implement a Volunteer Recognition Program, including special events, thank-you letters, and certificates of appreciation.
- Present to civic and other groups of potential volunteers to build awareness of Habitat mission and how Habitat can assist businesses, faith communities, and community organizations achieve their mission and community service goals.
- Support development efforts to cultivate monetary donations from volunteers and volunteer groups.
- Represent Habitat at special events, volunteer fairs, meetings and speak to groups as requested.
- Administrative and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
We are seeking candidates who possess the following skills and attributes:
- Valid Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license and good driving record are required.
- Self-Motivation: The ability to work independently and motivate others is essential.
- Flexibility: The position requires flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and weather conditions.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks are crucial.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with volunteers and represent Habitat in the community.
- Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent, along with relevant job experience in volunteer coordination or similar roles.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management (Salesforce preferred).
- Team Player: A positive, “can-do” attitude with the ability to work as part of a team and with minimal supervision
