Help us welcome Staci Jennings to our team!
Habitat Monroe is ecstatic to welcome a new team member to our Habi-family. Let’s all give a warm welcome to our new Volunteer Services Coordinator, Staci Jennings! Staci joined our team on June 1st, 2021, and has swiftly assumed her role at Habitat. She completed her employee onboarding activities in stride and has performed wonderfully for her first month and a half on the job.
As Volunteer Services Coordinator, Staci is responsible for the overall leadership of volunteer coordination and social media management. She reports directly to Jennifer Hockenberger, Habitat Monroe’s Director of Fundraising & Media.
Specifically, Staci will lead our efforts in these areas:
-Facilitating volunteer opportunities
-Managing volunteer recruitment
-Maintaining correspondence with Habitat teams and faith partners
-Overseeing AmeriCorps Members
-Monitoring Habitat’s social media platforms
-Designing creative graphics for upcoming posts and events.
-Utilizing social media analytics to track engagement and draw conclusions about Habitat’s community
Staci studied Communications at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, and has worked for a number of years in commercial real estate. She has vast experience in social media, creating articles, and maintaining correspondence with important community partners. She will work closely with Adriana, our AmeriCorps Volunteer Services Coordinator, on the Habitat build site, and in the office.
Get To Know Staci
Staci was born and raised in the Upper Peninsula, migrated to Traverse City, moved to Indiana, and then back to her roots in Michigan. She currently lives in Newport, MI, with her fiance and 2 children. She has a 12-year-old daughter named Emily, and a 9-year-old son named Jack. She is 30 years old, enjoys spending time with her children, gardening, spending time outdoors, playing tennis, crocheting, knitting, painting, thrift shopping, and doing creative things. We are excited for her, as she will be getting married on July 24th!
Staci first learned about Habitat Monroe in middle school, when her friends were doing a building project. She knew that Habitat for Humanity helped people, but she didn’t have much knowledge regarding our programs. She decided to take our Volunteer Coordinating position in the anticipation that she would be able to help her community. Staci believes that her life’s purpose is to help people who need assistance. She is enthusiastic about our program, as it will allow her to directly work with volunteers on the Habitat build site, strengthen her communication skills, and utilize her creative abilities for future Habitat projects. Staci believes that her empathy, life experience, relatability, and organizational skills will be a strength for her position and the community in Monroe County.
Staci enjoys working with our Habitat staff, and is excited to continue building relationships both in the office, and on the build site. We conducted an interview with her, to see how she is liking her time with Habitat Monroe thus far.
