Saving seems simple in theory, we all know we should be saving money. But getting started is often the hardest part. Habitat HOPE housing counseling is here to help you get started towards your savings goal. Join us for January’s HOPE Huddle on Thursday, Jan. 21 at 5:30 p.m. The completely free class is virtual and you can register by contacting Jeanette at jmcdonald@habitatmonroemi.org or 734-585-6701. Here’s a preview of what you will learn in the HOPE huddle:

What is your savings goal for this year? Do you want to save for emergencies, a car, or a down payment on a house? Making and sticking to a budget is a key step toward your savings goals. Until you get a realistic picture of how much money you are bringing in and where it is going, it’s difficult to know whether you will have enough left over to put away. Getting started is the hardest part.
Here are some steps to follow to help you create a budget that works for you.
Step 1: Where does my money come from?
Step 2: Where does my money go
Step 3: What are all my bills and when are they due
Step 4: Create your working budget
This will help you determine if you have enough money to cover all of your expenses and enough left over to save toward your financial goal.
Join us for the HOPE Huddle on January 21st, 2021 for more information on budgeting and saving for your financial future.
